Rome if you want to! ♫♪ Part 1

Sorry, this is going to have to be another blog update that is done in parts...just like the ones from Paris! :P

Day 1:
The day after I got back into London from Dublin, I was back on a plane to go to Rome! :D The plane ride was about two or so hours and we got into our hostel around 10pm or so and we passed out. :P

Day 2:

On the first actual day wandering around Rome we went to see the Colosseum and when we first got a glimpse of it, we all gasped because it was a lot bigger than we thought it would ever be! It was pretty surreal seeing something that I have read about my whole life, and that very thing was right in front of me. We paid to get into the Colosseum and meandered around the Colosseum for about three hours or so. Mike and I wandered ahead on the first level and I took so many pictures. Just thinking about what happened in the Colosseum and the history behind it was crazy! Brooke and I were looking up at the top of it and we started talking about how there were more levels on the top and people would sit up there...we started talking about that because we saw the outline of stairs. So, we just went on a rant about what happened there, how many people would be in there watching the massacre, what it looked like when it was in it's prime, and other things along those lines. :)

It was crazy being in there because people were just sitting on broken columns like it was
nothing, yeah, it isn't like that is a fucking old piece of history that is now being used as a bench or anything. I would be the worst person to be in charge of something like the Colosseum because I would either say "LET EVERYONE SEE EVERYTHING!!" or I would make everyone walk in with white overalls and those little blue booties that you put over your shoes...I would treat it like an archeological dig. :P After we were done with the Colosseum we decided to walk around a bit and just get lost and see what we could stumble upon. So, we found our way to a little restaurant and ate some foods! I called Jacob and got to see him (which made me very happy!) and Brooke called Marvin M and talked to him...or was it Ben? Either way, she called someone important to her! I got some of the best lasagna I have ever had at this tiny little outside restaurant!

From the restaurant we walked around this massive building that we thought was the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, but it turned out to be Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. Simple mistake! :P After we walked around this building and saw the changing of the guards we decided to meander some more...we eventually made our way to the Trevi fountain and just chilled out there for a bit. It was uber packed with people, but it was still pretty nonetheless. :) Well, I feel as though I have thoroughly overwhelmed myself with writing about the first day and I will stop now and do the other days at a later point in time!! :D

Wanna see more of my Rome pictures? Then go to my Rome Picasa Album!! :D
