Lunch in the Pemi

I went to work today and had a really good day. First off, Alice was having a bad migraine, but we still had a really good day. :) Alice and I decided that we needed to go to the river today because today was a beautiful day. We planned this before today though, it just needed to be done. Hahaha. So, Alive and I went down to the Pemi today around 3pm (a late lunch. :P)

The part of the Pemi where we went was about 3 feet deep at the deepest, but that was nice. We got to the middle of the river and just decided to sit in the water. We sat in the water and just talked about life; talked about tubing down the river with the CfRP team and some of the CFE team. It is really going to be a nice ending to the summer. After sitting in the river for about 30 minutes I felt so at ease and relaxed that I could have been hit by a car and it would have been all cool. I really think just sitting in the river and talking made it that amazing. Also, I have been working on my breathing ever since going to the chiropractor and my back has been hurting a lot less lately. I don't think that my mind and body have felt this good in about 2 years...the combination really had an impact on me.

Went 4/4 today!

Kyle and I went caching today and found three of Sonya's caches! It was pretty exciting because we got to drive around Danbury and find some pretty cool caches! :) After finding the ones in Danbury, Kyle and I went to Alexandria to find a cache that we never got to find in Wellington. While going in the main gate, we saw my little brother working. He talked to us for a couple of minutes and then said "Well, I have to go clean bathrooms. I hope that a toilet is clogged so it gives me something to do!" I love him! We found the cache and it was pretty easy and a really quiet walk along the trail.

After Wellington, Kyle and I went to my grandparents house, but alas they were not home. :( So, instead we went and placed a cache in a Bridgewater cemetery. I am really fond of this one because I think a lot of people are going to enjoy it because it is a lot different than others. After a fun willed day of caching, Kyle took me around Bungalo Village because he wanted to show me all of the cabins that his family use to stay in during the summer. It was very sweet to see how excited he got about his youth. It made me very happy. :)

Well, that is my boring, lame, but sweet day.

Busy week/weekend ahead!

This week is going to be crazy! (And yes, I already know that I am half way through it. :P) But, on Thursday I am going to work until like 2:30pm and then Kyle and I are going to go pick up Mike Lombard (Kyle's cousin) in Concord and chill out with him for a bit and then we are going to go see the "Wedding Singer" :). Spencer (Kyle's cousin and Mike's step-brother) is playing the Boy George character in the play and he gets to be gay! It is going to be so much fun seeing him sing and dance and be all homosexual (mainly because he is really homosexual already, even though he doesn't like dudes.) We are going to see it with my boss/co-worker/friend/soul sister too! She has never seen Spencer act before and she is going to love it! Alice also gets to meet Dan and Sonya for the first time and it is going to be so awesome because I talk about her and them all the time. :) Now I just have to get Thad to come watch Spencer be gay and then my whole office family will be there!

After the play we are going to go back to Mike's house for some food (I don't know if I will be cooking before or after the play...I guess it depends on what time we get our asses in gear.) It will benice to hang out with Mike because we have not been over to his apartment in forever. It makes me sad... :'( But, we have all had pretty weird summer schedules; Kyle is working 40+ hours a week, Mike is working 40 hours a week, Spencer has had work and play rehearsal, and the times that we have available for free time never matches up, so it has been hard. :/

On Saturday we are having a YARD SALE at Kyle's house! It was kind of a fleeting thought, but we all thought it was going to be a good idea! :) I have been thinking of things that I could sell, but not gathering them...I guess I can do that tonight. But, it will be so much fun, even if we don't sell anything. Oh! Sonya is going to be making lemonade to sell, and I will be making root beet floats (I know they sell really well because I use to sell them at farmers markets and people always wanted one. Yeah, that's right, I am a savvy businessman)

Straight Edge: What is it?!

I figured that I could dedicate a post to my straight edge-ness!! :D I get asked a lot what being straight edge means. Well, there are a lot of different interpretations over straight edge; some have to do with religion, some have to do with the punk subculture, and some having to do with keeping the body clean. For me straight edge is keeping myself in control of my body and keeping tobacco, drugs, and alcohol out of my system. I made this choice when I was in high school because I had no urge to go out and drink because I don't like not being in control of my own body and my actions. I figure that living through three years of dating a druggie and not doing any drugs or drinking shows how committed I am. :) (Even though it wasn't hard to say "no" it was just readily available if I ever wanted it.)

A lot of people think being straight edge means no sex, no caffeine, no prescription pills (birth control, penicillin, etc,...) and being vegan. I am none of those because I don't think that they pertain to my life and that is just too hardcore for me. I love sex and could never go without it, and I love me some caffeine, I am on birth control and Zoloft so that would not work for me, and I love my meat and animal product too much to be vegan. :P
Straight edge is also considered a terrorist group because in Nevada there is a gang of straight edge people that go into bars and beat up/kill anyone in there because they are drinking. Now, I think that is way to over the top and not needed, but some people differ in their opinions. Oh! I also don't mind being around people who drink and I will not press being straight edge on anyone. I understand that people can choose to drink and smoke and that is all on them, but I don't want to do it. Everyone thinks that if they drink in front of me I am going to get pissed, and that is not the case at all. :)

Here is the definition from Wikipedia:
"Straight Edge refers to a subculture of hardcore punk, which was a direct reaction to the sexual revolution, hedonism, and excess associated with punk rock. In its simplest form, straight edge is a philosophy of staying clean and sober: meaning refraining from using alcohol, tobacco, and any other recreational drugs. For some, this extends to not engaging in promiscuous sex, following a vegetarian or vegan diet, and not using caffeine or prescription drugs. The term was coined by the 1980s hardcore punk band Minor Threat in the song "Straight Edge"."

You better run, 'cuz Imma tag you!

Okay, Sonya chased me down and tagged me in a survey that is totally rad!

Rules: Answer eight questions given by the one who tagged you; create 8 new questions; pass the tag to others who must answer your questions.

My 8 questions are ...
1. What items do you always carry with you, either in your purse or pocket?

I think that I always have my phone on me and I always have a camera, whether it is my huge one or my point and shoot. :)

2. If you could live anywhere, where would you choose?

I would live in Canada, rural England, or northern Spain. :) I would go rural England first though and then northern Spain. :) I <3 England so much!

3. Who is your favorite person in your life right now and why?

My favorite person is my Kyle because we are starting to get better and have more fun together...even though we fight sometime.  :P

4. What is something ridiculous that you have done that most people don't know about?

Ummm, something ridiculous that I have done must be walking around in my underwear in the driveway while a UPS guy was driving up the driveway.

5. What was your first pet?

I am pretty sure that my first pet was a goatie and then came the horse and dog.

6. Who was your best childhood friend?

Probably Sammy Davis or Amanda Duquet and sadly I don't talk to either of them anymore! :( I hope to communicate with them later in life and catch up.

7. If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?

OoOohh that is a tough question! I would chose to "jump" places or be invisible. There have been so many times when I have wanted to just "jump" somewhere else (like Spain or England) and just be somewhere else. I have also wanted to be invisible and just be naked places. :P I love being naked! Hahaha, plus having sex while invisible would be so much fun!

8. Where is the last place you went, other than your own home?

I went to drop off Kyle at his home and before that was work! Which is now like my second home.

My 8 Questions:

1. If you could be anything in the world, what would it be and why?
2. What is something that you would tell all your friends about yourself if they were NOT going to judge you over it?
3. Do you think you will be a cool old person or a crotchety one?
4. If you could choose to look like someone, who would it be and why?
5. What is your favorite and least favorite animal and why?
6. Favorite guilty pleasure, go!
7. If you were to go back in time, where would you go?
8. Do you want children? If so, how many and what gender?

July 12 of 12

This is what I have to wake up to in the morning. Haha. As soon as my alarm goes off and they see me getting up, they run to the side of their cage that is closest to my bed and just beg! Kyle always says that I don't feed them and that they are starving and that is the reason behind all the begging, but that is not it at all! They get more than enough food and they know if they beg that they will get treats; they are smart little girls! I love them lots! Sleeves is the one with a brown head and Stella is the one with a cream head.

This is the elephant pumpkin that Alice and I started growing in our office about 2 months ago. The Center had a booth at Earth Day for Plymouth State and we gave out little plants in their own peat pots. The left over seeds from Earth Day went into the elephant; most of the seeds were pumpkins and any that were not pumpkins got killed by the pumpkins. We knew that we would never yield anything out of this little elephant, but we wanted to see how far we could make it go, and it turns out it can go pretty far! We now have two flowers on the pumpkin plant and more are coming! We never thought that we would have gotten that far! :P

There are plants that are growing outside of Russell House that look a lot like Cannabis, but it isn't! I just think it is neat!

There are probably the cutest baby ducks in the world!! They were so tame for wild ducks, and they came right up to me, but never close enough for me to touch one. :( I still think that they were cute little buttons.

Yeah, I went boating with these two sexy beasts!! :D The one on the right is Jesse and the one on the left is Lee and I love them both and I will have both of their babies! We went swimming in the middle of Newfound Lake and it was surprisingly warm and I loved every second of it.

After we went swimming, Jesse went tubing behind the boat and he ate shit so badly! :P It is much more fun for me watching than being the one thrown over the water.

Sexy ass Lee trying to make Jesse fly off. :)

Hahaha, Monster Import + sealable can + tubing = Love.

This was such a pretty sunset!! We were heading back from the Catch to Hebron and I was loving the way that the sky was looking and I just needed to take a million pictures.

Jesse being a creeper while I am trying to be cute and pretty... :| Oh, throughout the whole boat ride I was being eye raped by Lee because when we hit some wakes my boobs would jiggle and he would immediately look down at them because the swim suit I had on did not offer much support. :P

Lee and Jesse were on a romantic canoe ride.. :)

So, after boating we went back to Lee's house and chilled out there for like 2 hours and it was fun! I talked to his mom about my uncle Scott who passed away 3 years before I was born. His mom and dad were best friends with Scottie from the beginning of college until the day he died. It makes my heart happy to know of so many people that got to enjoy the company of Scottie, even though I never did. While Jesse was playing some WoW, I game Lee a back massage and surprisingly I got one in return! It was very nice getting a rub from someone who offered to give me one. :) About an hour later, Jesse and I left because he had work at 6 a.m. and he was getting tired. After a nice long heart-to-heart talk with Jesse on the way home it was 11:51pm and my day was ready to end and I was welcoming it! Katie + Day on the lake + Sun + Work + Swimming = Sleepy and tired Katie

"I wanna see our noses getting ground into the grass; like a puppy that pee'd on the carpet"

Last night was amazing! Kyle, Andrew, my grandfather, and I went to go see a Red Sox game! This was especially exciting for Andrew and Kyle because they absolutely love baseball with a burning passion. I really like going to ball games at Fenway because the stadium is so old and nifty and I really like to be under the seats walking around and people watching. Kyle was pissed because I kept wanting to walk around Fenway during the innings so I could get some pictures in because he wanted to be watching the game the whole time... :|

I told him that he could watch the game and I could walk around a lone but he was not having any of that, so we fought the whole time we were downstairs because he wanted to watch the game and was being bitchy about being down and I was being a bitch because I told him that he could go back and he didn't want to because "it would come back and bite him." But, nothing ever comes back and bites him because I am not that type of girlfriend.

While we were walking around downstairs Kyle registered to be a bone marrow donor (he said that he didn't want to and felt pressured to register, I just think that he did not want to register while the game was going on.) I was very proud that he registered though because even though he will probably never get called to be a donor, at least he thought about it. He was bitching after that he didn't want to do it because it was painful and I explained to him that it is not that painful and that I would rather be in pain and save a life than be able to save a life and not do so because of my personal comfort. :) We also got some good eats while we were down there, Kyle got a sausage and I got a pulled pork sandwich (whenever there is a pulled pork sandwich offered, I will get it because I love pulled pork.)

Kyle and I met up with our friend who works at Fenway, Mike Guiliani. That was nice because we haven't seen him in like a month or two and he is a really cool kid. He gets to work at Fenway but doesn't get to watch the game, he only gets to judge what is going on by the fan reactions (which I didn't know were so loud, I mean, I have been to a Sox game before but never in the bleachers and those people really react to everything.)

I also took a lot  of pictures while we were there..even though we were in the right field bleachers and I could not tell what was going on during the game, I could only tell when the wave was coming around and I caught every wave that came my way! :P

Here are some images.

I love this picture of Kyle!!

Sonya awarded me!!

Sonya awarded me!! :D

4 Rules go along with this award;

Rule 1: Thank the person who gave you the award!
You are an awesome blossom Sonya Cheney!
Rule 2: Share 7 things about yourself.
1. I am 19 (20 in one month) and I am going to college at Plymouth State University for Spanish. I <3 Spanish a lot.. :P

2. I have a hard time committing to anything because I am always afraid there is going to be something better and I am trying to work on not being like that. It has affected my relationships because I get bored with people after about 3 years or so (I have worked on that one! :D)

3. I feel really lucky that I haven't had to deal with a super big death in my family yet. When I think about someone dying it makes me sad because I have both complete sets of grandparents (Gotta catch 'em all!) and I love them lots!

4. I am a very decisive person, but around people I mask it by being indecisive because I don't want to come off as a controlling bitch, so, I let other people make decisions that I secretly hate but I cannot say anything because I don't want to be a bitch.

5. I want a huge house and two kids when I "grow up" and I would like to live in the Newfound Area. Now, Kyle wants the opposite of both of those things (small house with no children) so, I don't really know how that one is going to work out because I am not changing my mind.

6. I really want to have a hairless cat because I think they are sooooo cool looking! I know a lot of people think that they look like a scrotum, but I think that they are so nifty! I would also be willing to pay the money for one. :)

7. When I "grow up" I have already decided that I want some farm animals (because I live on a farm now) and I want two mini ponies, 3 Nigerian dwarf goats, a hairless cat, a mini pincher, and a great dane. :) If you don't like it, then don't marry me! Hahaha
